Clothes distribution
In Reykjavík the distribution of clothing takes place at Laugavegur 116 every Wednesday between 10.00  - 14:00. The building is approached from Grettisgata through the car park. Red Cross shops are situated at Laugavegur 12 and Laugavegur 116 in Reykjavik, and at Strandgata 24 in Hafnarfjörður.

The Red Cross centers in Suðurnesja, Akureyri and Skagafjörður also distribute clothes.
Other centers assist on demand.

Opening hours at Red Cross centers
In Reykjavik, Borgartún 25 is open Monday to Friday 13:00-16:00
The Kópavogur center, Hamraborg 11 is open Monday, Thuesday and Friday 11:00-16:00.
The Hafnarfjörður center, Strandgata 24 is open Monday,. Wednesday and Friday 10:00-14:00.
The Kjósasýsla center, Þverholt 7, Mosfellsbær is open Thuesday and Wednesday 13:00-16:00.

The Red Cross voluntary service
The Red Cross has a strong network throughout Iceland supported by volunteers.
 As a result of the present economic crisis the Red Cross anticipates an increased demand for voluntary work as there are many more in need of assistance and, no less important, it gives those who have lost their jobs an opportunity to continue taking an active part in society by participating in projects with the Red Cross.
